There was evidence that Simon Williams disposed of the knife which was the murder weapon down a drain.
(note 1)It had come from No 77 Centurion Road. In due course he gave evidence of trying to destroy it with bolt cutters.
The tip of the knife was found beneath the linoleum in the kitchen at No 77.
Simon Williams was arrested on 6 July while he was driving Neisha and her children. He was told he was being arrested for the murder of the deceased.
Telephone records(note 2) showed that Neisha spoke to Smith that night.
Smith was to maintain that he believed Williams had only been arrested for kidnapping but the Crown contended that it was inconceivable that he should have so understood matters, because he must have known from Neisha that the arrest was for murder.
The appellants were arrested at Ioannou's flat in Dutton Hall on 24 July....
Note 1 )Simon Williams on the 5 of July was seen at the drain in Cairo Ave Peacehaven at the back of the flat where he was pick up man. (it is known that details of persons using the flat where on a police C22 file this included Simon Williams car reg number) So why did the murder team not have this information.
On the 10 July 96 a call was made to the incident room who had no idea that Simon Williams was in Peacehaven.
Note 2 ) Telephone records the Police obtained these for 77 Centurion Rd .
But not for Top Flat 318 South Coast Rd Peacehaven, where on the 5 July on that day Simon Williams made several telephone calls before putting the knife down the drain.
As the Police were fully aware the flat was being used as a base for credit fraud by Mark Slade and that Simon Williams was pick up man at that address(the Katrina Tapes confirm this) So who where the Police covering up for.

Before the jury Simon Williams gave evidence. He agreed that he had chased the deceased into the hotel
On 4 July, but said she had got into his car willingly. There had been a shouting match when they had first
Reached No 77, but it had calmed down once the deceased admitted responsibility for the burglary and agreed repayment.
He knew that Neisha had telephoned Smith and he said that when the appellants arrived they were questioning the deceased in a bossy manner, but later on everything in the house was quiet, when he took Sarah home. When he returned things were much the same. He and others had smoked cannabis. The deceased had stayed there until about 10.30pm, when the appellants had left to catch their train and the deceased had left with them. About half-an-hour later, the appellants had returned. Scollan had gone straight to the bathroom. Smith said they had missed the train and the deceased was dead. He had reluctantly agreed to drive them to London.
During the journey very little was said, except that Scollan had said that he should get rid of the knife.
He had returned to Brighton and had gone to bed. The following day he had gone to work as usual (note 3 ) but he Heard local news which reminded him of his conversation about the knife with Scollan. Having failed to Destroy it with bolt cutters, he had disposed of it down a drain, as we have said.
( note 3 )work as usual?. WHO DID HE WORK FOR - MARK SLADE A.K.A MARCEL SULC? WHO SAID HE WAS AT WORK ON THE 5 JULY 96. WHO MADE THE STATEMENTS ????? WAS IT D. SMITH OR J. WOLWOLICZ OR MARK SLADE. ON THE EVENING OF 10 JULY, SLADE AND WOLWOWICZ SHOWED THE POLICE AROUND THE FLAT IN PEACEHAVEN. THIS SEEMS VERY STRANGE AS THE POLICE WOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT THE PERSON CALLING HIMSELF MARCEL SULC WAS REALLY THE PREDDY FRAUDSTER MARK SLADE.
